// Vous vous intéressez au réseau depuis des années. D’un point de vue artistique que s’est-il passé pour vous ces 15 années sur Internet ? Comment avez-vous perçu, vécu et traversé la naissance et l’adolescence du web ?

/// Quelle est, pour vous, la portée de la notion de réseau ? D’un point de vue social, politique, artistique, philosophique comment le réseau a-t-il modifié notre rapport au monde, à l’espace et au temps, nos usages, nos pratiques, notre façon d’être, de travailler, de penser, de partager, d’échanger, de collaborer, de créer… ?

//// Dans le futur, le web sera t-il encore un territoire intéressant à explorer, pensez vous qu’il sera un terrain fertile pour la création, pensez-vous qu’il générera ou produira des formes hybrides où le monde physique et le monde virtuel fusionnent, se frottent et se télescopent ?

Un événement animé par Anne Roquigny, Anne Laforet et Isabelle Arvers

Deux journées d’interventions pendant lesquelles une cinquantaine d’artistes, critiques, penseurs, inventeurs, chercheurs, commissaires artistiques et organisateurs d’événement français font un point sur 15 années d’existence d’Internet.

Sous un angle artistique, ils commentent, analysent et retracent « l’histoire » du web et la manière dont le réseau a été investi comme un espace de création (créations en ligne, œuvres collectives, pratiques de téléprésences, performances en réseau net art, online art, software art, code art, ascii art, flash art, google art, art génératif, art interactif, art collaboratif, tactical media, locative media, art télématique…).

Protocole : Les interviews, d’une durée de 15 minutes chacune, sont présentées et réalisées dans le cadre du dispositif multi-écrans WJ-s. Le public est installé au milieu de 3 écrans géants il assiste à une navigation en temps réel dans une sélection de sites Internet choisis par chaque intervenant. Le dispositif propose une multitude de points de vue, une vision augmentée de la pensée.

Publication en ligne et publication papier : Dans un premier temps, l’intégralité de l’événement est filmée, retransmise en direct sur Internet (http://www.selfworld.net/) et ensuite archivée sur le serveur de MCD - Musiques et cultures digitales (http://www.digitalmcd.com). Dans un deuxième temps, les textes des interventions donnent lieu à une publication papier, éditée par l’Association MCD.

WJ-SPOTS #1 est la première édition d’une série d’événements qui se dérouleront en partenariat avec des médias et des structures culturelles espagnoles, sud-américaines, américaines, anglaises, balkaniques ...

« 15 years of artistic creation on the internet »

Artists, critics, thinkers, inventors, researchers, curators, organizers and producers of cultural events are invited to trace the history of the internet. Through an artistic angle they comment and analyse how Internet has been taken over as a space of creation from its beginning until now.

The WJ-SPOTS events each time take place in a different part of the world. Around 50 participants are invited to participate and their interviews are done inside the WJ-S multi screen environment (www.wj-s.org)

The WJ-SPOTS audience is invited to an immersive experience through a real time and online navigation browsing on 3 big screen and into a selection of websites chosen by the speaker.

WJ-SPOTS #1 is programmed within the framework of two digital events : Futur en Seine and Les Immatérielles taking place in Paris on May 27th & 28th 2009 respectively.

WJ-SPOTS #1 is the first edition of a series of events organized in partnership with MCD magazine (http://www.digitalmcd.com) and other international média and cultural organisations.
